Australian newcomers Germein are supporting Little Mix on their new UK stadium tour this month as they drop the video for their addictive new single Talking.

Germein spoke to The Fountain about what to expect from Talking, performing with Little Mix and their plans for the remainder of the year.

TF: A new single release, how exciting, what can we expect?

Thanks very much! We’re really excited about our new single Talking which we’ve just released over here in the UK. We decided we wanted to start making music on our own terms, and so tried recording and producing Talking ourselves in our home studio in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. When we hit play, we knew it was the musical vision we’ve had for ourselves finally coming to life. Talking takes on a bit of a darker theme, with edgy guitar hits, pumping drums and bass, and a soaring break out chorus showcasing our three-part harmonies. Talking we hope can relate to people facing all different types of challenges. Whether it be feeling like you can’t express yourself through communication in a break up, losing a loved one, fighting with a friend, or even feeling like you don’t have the right to talk.

TF: And do you have anything more scheduled for the year, an EP, an LP, when can we look forward to that?

We have some more singles we’re aiming to release real soon, as well as a lot of new tunes that we’re currently working on. Ideally we’d like to have an album out, so watch this space for when that will all take place!

TF: And you are touring soon, supporting Little Mix, you must be stoked?

Yeah, we’ve just kicked off the Summer Hits Tour with Little Mix, which has been absolutely unreal so far! The atmosphere is crazy amazing to be part of, with certainly a few “pinch me please” kind of moments! We are having the best time playing to so many beautiful people on our first ever stadium tour, and can’t wait for the rest of the shows!

TF: And of course it is that time of year, are you performing at lots of festivals this summer?

We recently played at the Isle of Wight Festival which was amazing as always. We were stoked to be asked back to play for the 50th Anniversary. The whole weekend could only be described as magical – the weather and sunset each night was just stunning to say the least, and the line up was just WOW!

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

So far we’d have to say the Little Mix shows has been our favourite gigs to date. The audiences are absolutely beautiful, the venues are incredible, and it’s just such a fun and happy atmosphere to be part of. We are pretty new to the UK but already we’ve been made to feel so at home by everyone over here, so we couldn’t be more grateful.

Germein are performing Jul 27th at Falkirk Stadium (Little Mix), Jul 28th Outdoors at AECC Aberdeen (Little Mix) and Jul 29th Bught Park Inverness (Little Mix)
