Czech musician Thom Artway has indulged us with his first international single, All I Know, which is officially released by Warner Music on 1st June, which will come from an album we should see out in Autumn 2018.
Thom spoke with The Fountain about performing at Great Escape in Brighton this year as well as his support gig for Glen Hansard last year.
TF: A first international single release, you must be ecstatic?
Well I am! That is the reason I’m singing in English. It’s been a long journey but I’m still enjoying it!
TF: And what has the experience been like working with John Davis?
John Davis did the mastering on my new single. Actually, I attended an online mastering session with John so I didn’t meet him personally. But he did a great job!
TF: And you are scheduled to play the Great Escape in Brighton, is this your first time here?
Yes. I have been in the UK quite a few times but I have never been to Brighton. I’m trying hard to play out of my native country more, so every opportunity is great, and this is a big one so I’m very excited and the line-up of the Impressive by The Sea stage seems to be very nice!
TF: Do you have any plans to play north of the border soon?
I would love to play in Scotland, but I am still waiting for the call!
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?
I had the honor to open two shows for Irish songwriter Glen Hansard last year, it was an amazing experience. I’ll never forget it. Regarding other shows I went to Nick Cave’s concert last year. I had never felt so deeply about someone’s music as in that particular moment.
