Drumline is the second single from Lo, a determined and self-driven Nashville artist focused on creating American bubblegum pop. Lo Lands has worked her way from writing for other artists full-time to pay the bills to the launch of her own artistic project, and it appears she is one to look out for.
She spoke with The Fountain about what more we can expect from her this year, as well as the reception she has received thus far to her new track.
TF: A new single release, you must be excited?
Yes, I’m so excited! It’s been a huge blessing to be able to release music. I had so much fun creating this song and have loved finally being able to share it with the world.
TF: And we are to expect more from you later in the year, a second EP, an LP?
Drumline is my second single, following my debut, Good Good that came out last fall. This summer, you can expect a series of releases leading up to my first EP dropping late fall!
TF: And what has the reception been like so far to this track?
It’s been great! Drumline debuted on Apple Music’s ‘Best Of The Week’ as well as their Hot Tracks playlists which was amazing. In addition, it went #1 on the Hype Machine Twitter chart on its first day and has picked up a lot of great press!
TF: Are you going to be promoting this with a tour, are we likely to see you play live soon?
Since I’ll be so busy recording and releasing music the next few months, I’ll be playing shows local to LA and Nashville. Once the full EP drops, I’ll definitely be booking some dates to get out to cities around the US! (So sadly not the UK)
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?
My favorite gig so far was the first ever Prescription Music showcase I played here in Nashville last fall. It was pretty soon after I signed and just a year before, I had been waiting tables. For sentimental reasons, that night was super special to me, since it represented all of the change that had happened in just a short year and signaled the start of my artistry.
