This February TV ME release their new EP, A Broadcast from TV ME, which the band are presently touring to promote. Having supported Featherwest they performed in the Hug and Pint in Glasgow and the Leith Depot Bar in Edinburgh.
Thomas McConnell from the band spoke with The Fountain about his desire to play during Edinburgh’s Festival month and releasing the EP.
TF: Exciting stuff with a new EP release, you must be ecstatic?
I’m very excited to get it out there. four brand new tracks that I’ve worked on a lot over the last few years that range in style.
TF: And are you following this with a full promo tour?
We’re currently touring to promote it and the final date will be our big EP launch. There’ll be a lot of online activity around it up to and after the release.
TF: Now you just recently played the Hug and Pint, how did your Glasgow performance go down?
It was great – we supported Featherwest. They’re music is ace and we think we were a good fit. The Glasgow crowd seemed to enjoy it. I’ve played in the city a lot over the years with various projects and it’s always one of my favourite places to come and play.
TF: And are we likely to see you perform in Scotland again soon?
Nothing concrete as yet but we’ll definitely be returning later in the year. We’d love to come and play during the Edinburgh festival.
TF: Which has been your favourite gig to date?
Both the Scottish dates were very fun. We did them as a duo (we’re usually a trio) so it was nice that they worked out.
