Aaron Lee Tasjan is back in Scotland, performing again at Celtic Connections tonight, this time paying tribute to Johnny Cash, playing alongside Dale Watson and the likes of Rab Noakes and James Grant. Having recently released acclaimed debut, Silver Tears, it is likely he will be performing in Scotland again soon.

Aaron spoke with The Fountain about the response to his album, performing at the renowned Celtic Connections and what we can look forward to from him soon.

TF: You must be ecstatic about playing the well-reputed Celtic Connections Festival this week?

Definitely! This is my second time at Celtic Connections. I was on the bill with the amazing Margo Price last year. Really looking forward to being back in Glasgow with the great Dale Watson and paying tribute to the legendary Johnny Cash.

TF: Following your Silver Tears release, what has the response been like?

We’ve been thrilled to get such a great response. I’ll be heading into the studio when I get back to the US and hope to have a new record out later this year.

TF: Are you going to get the chance to see any of the other performers whilst here for the festival and if so, who are you looking forward to?

I hope so. Such a great line up. I’d like to see them all if I have time.

TF: And will you be playing any other venues north of the border, with this album?

Unfortunately, this trip over is short but I hope to be back soon.

TF: You’ve already played a ton of festivals, what has been your favourite gig to date?

Celtic Connections is always a great time. Seriously, any time I get to play music is my favorite!

Silver Tears is out now via New West Records.
