Brothers Jacob and Rory Green are the culmination of JR Green, Scottish band who’ve recently released EP, Bring the Witch Doctor.

Rory took some time to speak to The Fountain about their mythological influences with the record, hinting at a full length LP and tour in the near future.

TF: You must be ecstatic about the release of your new EP?

Yes we are. This is a collection of songs we have been performing live for the last two years so it’s great to finally release them.

TF: Where have your influences been drawn from with this record?

We were reading a lot of bible stories, fairy tales and bits of mythology. This definitely influenced the lyrics. We used certain references to these things as a vehicle for other emotions, a sort of loose allegory. It maybe isn’t something that is present in our writing so much now but this type of story was definitely influencing us at the time.

TF: How would you describe it in three words?

Not that s**t

TF: What more can we expect from you in the near future – a full length LP?

We are just about to record our first full length LP. Some of the songs still need a bit of writing but we should be starting very soon.

TF: Are you likely to be touring Scotland soon?

When the album is done then I’m sure we will be touring Scotland. It is something we always enjoy and look forward to, our main focus at this minute is making a decent album, when this is done then I’m sure we will be dying to start playing the songs live.
