New single from Sleepwoka, How I Was Wrong, explores the notion we often believe in our youth that our best years are yet to come. The song challenges what we think is important and whether that is actually true, especially when we come to reflect on simpler times that may have been harder but were somehow freer. The Fountain caught up with Sleepwoka who discussed the single in more depth along with his plans for the rest of 2020.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to How I Was Wrong?

So far response has been quite overwhelming in a good way. I have received numerous messages from people all around the globe about how they discovered my music and how they relate to the song I am writing. What more can you ask for as an artist? These kind of messages give you a lot of confidence and reassurance that we are doing the right thing.

TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?

How I Was Wrong is a tribute to the simpler and more naïve times when we were younger and we felt the most alive.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release?

Our main plan is continue release new music. We have two more singles ready and waiting to be released and several collaborations in the making that will probably be out the first half of 2021.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

The Sleepwoka project is quite young and our first gig was supposed to happen in London in April 2020. As we all know, the global pandemic has shifted everything indefinitely, so for the time being we will only have the pleasure of performing remotely online.
