Mouth Culture have just signed with Ohio based InVogue Records. The band’s label debut single ihatesadsongs has just been released and the music video for 15 Missed Calls is out now on the InVogue Records YouTube channel. The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss the new track as well as their plans for the rest of 2020.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to ihatesadsongs?  

It’s not quite out yet, but we’re excited for it. it shows a different side of us, that this summer helped us find. Being locked down during the whole covid-19 affair gave us the time and space to really experiment and have fun with our sound. Stepping out of our comfort zone and letting our guards down a little bit. 

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

ihatesadsongs is a sad song, but we like this one. 

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?

We’ve been writing non-stop so we’ve got a bunch of songs we’re working hard to get out asap. We’ll be dropping at least one more song with our friends at InVogue before the year’s out. Other than that, it’s about playing as many safe gigs as possible. 

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

We love the Cookie, in our hometown of Leicester. it’s this little stage, in a tiny basement, squeezing in about 100 people. great sound, really f**king hot, but the best vibes around. Second part, brazil, we really wanna get out and see our fans over there (and get a bit of a tan).
