Create More Than You Destroy, the debut album by Arcade Fortress, features eleven tracks of festival-ready rock. Having just dropped the LP, The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss the record in more depth, as well as their plans for the rest of 2020.
TF: You have a new LP out, what has the reception been like to Create More Than You Destroy?
It’s been fantastic so far with radio play, on a wide variety of internet stations, and a couple of reviews that captured the spirit of the music perfectly. It’s very exciting watching things snowball, as the music gathers momentum, especially as it was only released on the 11th of September.
TF: Can you sum up the album in a sentence?
Create More Than You Destroy is eleven songs of festival-ready rock.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this LP release?
Besides promoting the album, I’m finalising the track selection for the follow-up which will be released in late 2021. I’ve got 30 or so songs to work through to decide which ones will give the album cohesion. Additionally, I’m working with a Lincoln-based videographer to storyboard and film the first Arcade Fortress music video from Create More Than You Destroy.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
My favourite show so far has been at The Box in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. A tiny venue with incredible energy in the crowd. Closely followed by The Dublin Castle, London. That was one of those shows where the stars aligned and everyone was fully on board with what we were playing. King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut is at the top of the list for venues I want to play in the future. Warming up for Biffy Clyro on a festival stage wouldn’t be too shabby either.
