Joe McAlinden has just released his new album Edit, seeds of which were sown more than ten years prior. Feeling overwhelmed by the Tide of the sea, Joe felt overwhelmed as it slammed against the rocks. Edit is Tide backwards. However, the project was put on hold with the loss of Joe’s father. Several years later and here we are. Joe spoke with The Fountain about the reception the album has had so far and his plans for the remainder of 2020.
TF: You have a new album out, what has the reception been like to Edit?
It’s something people will either love or hate. So far, it’s an album for lovers. It’s great that EDIT is finally released after all this time and I’m very excited for people to hear it.
TF: How would you sum up the LP in one sentence?
Timeless, honest & beautiful…
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this LP release?
I am currently finishing off a new solo LP which will hopefully be released before the year end and there are plans afoot with my Superstar back catalogue. I am also producing the new JR Green album and have just bought a new lawn mower.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
Barrowlands and Barrowlands.
Edit is out now
