The DDEs are a three-piece band hailing from Manchester with true indie rock in their veins. This band are the true embodiment of Manchester swagger and attitude. With a new EP out, Calm Before the Storm, The Fountain caught up with the three lads to discuss their plans and the venues they are stoked about playing in again.
TF: You have a new EP out, what has the reception been like to Calm Before the Storm?
Unbelievable, it really has! Hand on heart we didn’t expect it to get this sort of reaction……I’m lying…we did ?. We knew the songs were great but people have REALLY taken to them and that’s what its all about isn’t it?
So to answer your question…..amazing reception thank you.
TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?
A sonic masterclass in the art of melody, song writing and balls to the wall rock n roll.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this EP release?
We are wanting to start getting gigging again (as is everyone) but we are already working on the follow up to this. It’s going to be a trilogy of EPs and the next one is going be proper dirty rock n roll from beginning to end.
So everything with regards to gigging is out of our hands at the minute so we are just concentrating on the follow up
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
Night and Day Café in Manchester without a shadow of a doubt! Great people behind the scenes and the overall sound is phenomenal! The next place that we are buzzing for is when we get to play the Made In Manchester festival next year.
That’s going be one hell of a party!
