After a long break from touring the world in various bands, Alf Hale restarted his musical journey in April 2017 with debut solo EP Misanthrope. After two subsequent albums, Seven, recorded at Stage 2 Studios in Bath with Josh Gallop (Phoxjaw), is the first album that has seen Alf focus solely on how his faith has impacted him personally. Alf spoke with The Fountain about the album as well as the venue he is most exciting about performing in next.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Glory Bound?
The reception has been great. My wife sent it to a friend in Nairobi and she cried when she heard it, that’ll do it for me!
TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?
To God be the glory.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single/video release, did I note an album?
Moving house to South Wales and will begin to write some new songs.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
I don’t have a favourite venue to play personally, but I’d love to play the Americana festival in Norway, someone please invite me 😉
