Australian artist Michael Butera has released brand new track, The Green Garden. It was written while Michael was adventuring the world, an alternative pop ballad with cinematic movements in its arrangement expressing a fantasy story of living in a world with ‘your true love’. Michael spoke with The Fountain about The Green Garden as well as influences.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to The Green Garden?

The reception so far has been incredibly positive and I have been overwhelmed with the support and kind words people have sent me. You never know how a crazy little idea you think up in the bedroom will be received once it’s put on a public platform. There is always that initial concern about being so vulnerable with your music and it becomes a part of you. So I have been very lucky that it has all been very positive.

TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?

It’s a happily ever after song set in a fantasy world of your own capable imagination. Everyone will have their own version of a happy ever after story with someone they hold dear.

TF: Who do you look to and idolise when it comes to influences with this track?

I am proud to say that when I was trying to bring this to life, It was during a time when I was very much inspired by OneRepublic and Coldplay. Their melodies and arrangements are simply beautiful and will stand the test of time.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release?

I am continually writing and recording, potentially will be releasing another single before the year is out and I aim to release a full EP early to mid 2021. I would love the chance to be able to travel and perform in cities around the world next year also (Pending travel restrictions).
