Pop singer/songwriter Gillian has released Static, the second single from her forthcoming debut album, 3AM, slated for release later this year. This follows the release of High, a pensive ballad about the pains of addiction, released in late April. Gillian spoke with The Fountain about the new single and plans for 2020.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Static

People have really been enjoying it! Static was one of the most exciting songs to produce and record, and it’s very special to me. I think that the message is relatable and powerful, and I’m so glad that people are loving it!

TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?

Static is a song about not wanting to go out, but also being afraid to miss out on experiences.

TF: Who do you look to and idolize when it comes to influences with this track?

I grew up listening to a lot of pop music, especially Taylor Swift. She inspires me daily. Olivia O’Brien’s melancholy songwriting also inspired the song.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of this year?

This year, I’m planning to release two more singles and then a full album titled 3AM! I can’t wait! This music means so much to me. I hope that it can help people and connect with people in ways that music does for me. I’m so excited for everyone to hear it!
