At just sixteen years of age, singer/songwriter Amber T releases her first full solo single, Jigsaw. She’s no stranger to releasing records though, as she was a co-writer on Rubika’s Final Call (over 1 million video views) and was the artist and co-writer on two singles recorded with the legendary producer Dr. Zeus, in the shape of Tick Tock (over 1.5 million video views and over 200,000 streams) which debuted with a live interview and launch on Radio 1 and an interview for BBC TV News South East.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Jigsaw?
I was really scared of how people would react as my first two singles were with Dr. Zeus and we co-wrote them, so this is my first Solo release. However, the initial response has been amazing so many people love the track and I’m getting so many lovely comments it’s a bit overwhelming.
TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?
A down to earth singalong song but it seems to make quite a few listeners cry as it’s quite emotional.
TF: Who do you look to and idolise when it comes to influences?
I love the 1975 and especially how they began as a band, doing 365 gigs in a year just amazes me. I also really love Madison Beer’s style and her development of music over the past few years I’ve been following her for.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release, can we look forward to an EP, LP?
At the moment I’m busy writing but I have two new singles already recorded (just being mixed) and there’s a co-write/release with a band coming as well. So lots of new songs cooking at the moment and in the future a lot more releases but singles rather than EP/album at this stage.
