BINNY is the moniker of Maryland born and bred musician Brian Lim. BINNY derives from the Vietnamese name, Tri Bình, which means peace. Growing up in a family of musicians, the artist learnt piano from the early age of six, before self-teaching the guitar and eventually onto songwriting. Now, he has just released new track Retrograde, which he has discussed with The Fountain below.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Retrograde?

The reception for Retrograde has been positive. I love that people are vibing with it and getting a sense of who I am as an artist with it.

TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?

Retrograde in one sentence: The perfect song to listen to when you just got home from the club alone, eating Taco Bell and wanting to get in your feelings.

TF: Who do you look to and idolise when it comes to influences?

A few artists that I love are Ariana Grande, MAX, JoJo, and Bazzi. I love artists who are incredible vocalists and also write/produce their own stuff.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release?

I’ve been working on some more songs that I hope to release this year and hopefully find opportunities to get out there and start performing.
