The Gritty Kings are an up-and-coming indie band, Edinburgh-based who who are set to land their third single. Talking all things Jem and 2020, The Gritty Kings spoke with The Fountain about what more we can expect from the four-piece.
TF: You have a new single out, what reception have you had thus far?
The reception for Jem has been phenomenal, something that we’re over the moon about. Coming from a small town it’s difficult to break into the mould that is cities such as Edinburgh and Glasgow. However with the support of fellow bands and promotors, the support has seemed endless and has got us super excited to get back into the studio.
TF: How would you sum up Jem in one sentence?
Jem is about the hard ships of relationships and how it’s all worth it in the end when it works out for the better.
TF: Will you be performing the track live anytime soon, it would be great to hear it in that format?
Yes we are, we’re supporting our good friends Kilgrvston at the Caves on the 13th of March and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase Jem live as well as a lot of new music that nobody has heard yet. On top of this we’re in the stages of organising some decent festival work and our headliner.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, some more single releases, an EP?
We’ve got big plans for 2020, such as the works of an EP and a lot of shows such as festivals and our headliner! We’re really excited and can’t wait to kick it off with this single!
