By Land is the moniker Swedish producer and songwriter Björn Lindberg. With his debut album coming in Spring, he’s announcing this release with new single Half Of Us. Björn spoke with The Fountain about how his name came about as well as the plans for 2020.

TF: You have a new single out, what reception have you had thus far?

Very good! Stoked that people are listening and sharing their feelings about it!

TF: How would you sum up Half of Us in one sentence?

A song about breaking up with the crowd in my head and finding my own direction.

TF: By Land is an unusual psuedo name, what inspired this one?

Yeah, I like it because it’s not a closed sentence, it’s up to me and the listener to fill it with meaning. ”By” also means ”Village” in Swedish, so the name makes me think of the countryside and spacious fields.

TF: Will you be performing the track live anytime soon, it would be great to hear it in that format?

By Land is me playing lots of instruments in my studio, experimenting with sounds and lyrics by myself. But I have plans on making a By Land band in the future!

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, some more single releases, an EP?

My next single Drift will be released on March 6. That song is a reminder to trust your gut feeling, packed in a mellow mood (like most of my tunes). It will be followed up by a full length album later this spring!
