The Fountain caught up with Royse to discuss the single in more depth.

TF: You have a new single out, Oxygen, what can we expect from this release?
This is a song that I wrote about a toxic relationship that I have felt before and I hope others can realize they are not alone and that the chemical relationship that they feel has been felt by others. This song has also lead to a music video that I got to shoot, and it was my favorite one to film this far!

TF: And how would you sum up the track in one sentence?

Oxygen is a song about when you are so lost in love that it overtakes you.

TF: And are you working towards the release of an album or EP?

Yes! I am constantly working on new music! And I hope to release more music soon!

TF: What else is on the cards for Royse, can we expect a gig in Scotland soon?

It has been a dream of mine to perform in Scotland! I actually have never been, but my grandpa is from Scotland, and he always talks about how beautiful it is, and I’d love to experience it for myself with a performance! He taught me how to make shortbread 🙂 and I want to see how it compares!

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

A show with High School Nation where I had the opportunity to encourage high schoolers to go after their dreams!
