The three slightly maniacal but lovable lads who make up DR!FTWOOD, Hugh Aitchison, Nathan Walker and Marcus Maddox are back with another in their ever growing armoury of songs. IN2U may highlight their collective lack of spelling ability but that aside the track is an anthem, laden with more hooks than a trawler and a reason for The Fountain to catch up with the three lads to discuss their music in more depth.

TF: You have a new single out, that must be exciting?

We’re really excited about the single being out we’ve been waiting to release it for a while and we are so happy with how it turned out!

TF: And what has been the reception been like to IN2U, can you elaborate on what inspired the crux of it?

The response has been great we’ve had a lot of support from our fans on the release, it’s been amazing! The crux of the song comes from that first moment you meet someone and your mind starts spinning and your heart starts racing, but it’s also touching on how people can change over time and how the image that you had of someone is maybe not who they really are.

TF: And how do you feel this differs from previous releases?

With IN2U we explored some new sonic boundaries but still have that DR!FWOOD feel quite upbeat and catchy.

TF: Can we look forward to seeing you live soon, touring with it anytime soon, particularly here in Scotland?

We’re playing a few more shows before the year ends, 12th December in Hull and the 14th in Leeds, we’ve been trying to sort a few shows out in Scotland, it’s on our agenda for the new year!!

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

Playing at the Great Escape festival in Brighton was amazing, we all had such a good time and the crowd was unbelievable, we’ve played loads of really great gigs but that tops them!
