Amistat are twin brothers Josef and Jan Prasil. Born in Germany and raised in Italy, with parents originating from Czech Republic and Australia, the European brothers developed their sound after moving to Australia. They have just released new track, Love and Light, which was inspired by the rising pollution in the ocean. The Fountain caught up with them to talk about the single in more depth.
TF: A new single, how exciting, what has the reception been like so far?
It’s been very exciting for us to get this new single out into the world as we have been working on it for quiet a while. The response has been very positive. I think the listeners are liking the lightness of the song and its message really sticks with people. Love and light ! 🙂
TF: What inspired the title, Love and Light, tell me more about the new single?
Love and Light was inspired by the recent environmental changes and the rising pollution of the oceans. The relationship between us humans and every other living creature and how we must treat one another with more respect and compassion again. One should aspire to come from a place of love and understanding as everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
TF: Will you be promoting the album with a tour at all, will we have the pleasure of seeing you here in Scotland?
The EP will be out end of September and it will be taking us on tour across the UK and Europe in November and December. We won’t make it over to Scotland this time unfortunately, will be performing in London and Manchester though.
TF: What has been your favorite gig to date?
There has been a few special ones over the years. One of our favorites this year has definitely been supporting the boys from Sons of the East in Paris. The audience was on fire and the energy in the room was phenomenal!
