Following two sell out years on the Fringe, Oliver Harris returns with a whole new programme of Elvis Presley’s great songs ( and of course with some of last years favourites) from The Wonder of You, Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto to American Trilogy. At the Free Fringe in Frankensteins he’s a must for any Elvis fan. Oliver spoke with The Fountain about the show and offered tips for first-time Fringe performers.
TF: You are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this year again, how exciting?
We have a large following and we want to build on the success of the last 2 years.
TF: Young Elvis certainly sounds intriguing, what brings it to the Fringe yet again?
This year will be a new programme of songs for audiences to enjoy.
TF: And what drove the project, where did your influences lie?
This August Elvis Presley will have been dead for as many years as he was alive (42 years) and we want to continue celebrating his work.
TF: What are your plans for the Fringe, having been before are there any tips or musts you would offer to first-time performers?
For new performers it is an idea to try the Free Fringe and to consider the market for your work and target the right areas for marketing. Invest in marketing and make sure your poster stands out.
TF: And what are your future plans beyond Young Elvis?
We would like to continue touring and gathering new audiences of all ages.
You can see Young Elvis at Frankenstiens from 1st – 26th August at 15:45. For tickets, please visit www.edfringe.com
