Following their sold-out UK tour in January, and the release of their single Double Down, US alt-rockers Slothrust have just released their new single Peach on Dangerbird Records. With that and the announcement new tour dates announced on their site Leah from the band spoke with The Fountain about the track and her love for fruit.
TF: A new single, how exciting, what has the reception been like so far?
The reception for our song Peach has been overwhelmingly positive. This says to me that most people are indeed on the constant search to connect with and heal their inner-child.
TF: What inspired you to title it Peach?
I chose to title the song Peach because it feels like a word many people know that evokes multiple senses at the same time. Generally speaking I have a fascination with fruit and all of the colours and textures it has to offer.
TF: And will you be promoting this with a list of exciting tour dates?
We are currently on the road and have a bunch more dates coming up! I am hoping we can figure out a way to come tour overseas again before too long. In particular I am obsessed with Scotland and would love to figure out a way to live abroad there at some point and work on various art and music projects. I found both Glasgow and Edinburgh inspiring.
TF: Where has been your favourite gig to date?
One of my favorite shows we have done was our last show at Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York. We spent a lot of time playing out in New York and it was satisfying to sell out such a large room and play to a fan base that has continued to show up for us and follow us on our journey as a band.
TF: And what are your plans for the year, a new EP or LP on the cards?
It is hard to say what the future will hold but I would bet on it involving lots more time in the studio as well as more time on the road.
