Midlands-based singer, songwriter and musician Joe Dolman has just dropped new track Drag Me Down, and is certainly one to look out for after being noted recently by BBC Introducing and found supporting The Enemy’s Tom Clarke on his UK tour dates. Joe spoke with The Fountain about performing in Scotland as well as his fan support.

TF: You have a new single release, what has the reception been like so far?

It’s been really overwhelming actually. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world for having such genuinely encouraging fans, who really back me as hard as they can and I’m unbelievably grateful for that!

TF: And what are your plans for the reminder of 2019, an EP, LP, tour?

I’ve been working on some more new music in the studio and it’s really coming together. Once it’s ready, announcements will be coming thick and fast!

TF: And have you performed in Scotland, what do you make of the crowds?

Yes I have many times, I’ve been lucky enough to do my own gigs in pubs and small venues as well some incredible opportunities to support Tom Clarke from The Enemy a couple of times at the O2 ABC. I’ve always found the Scottish crowd very honest, they really listen to what you’re saying between songs and always up for a good night! Can’t wait to come back on the next run of dates later this year.

TF: Where has been your favourite gig to date?

I’m not sure I could pick just one gig, but last year I did a show in my hometown of Leamington Spa where I played with a full band and string section, we recorded a live EP which I’m really proud of and is out online if you want to get a taste for it, I thought it was a really special night!

TF: And Joe, what drags you down?

What drags me down? Not knowing the next time I’ll be playing in Scotland! ?
