Brion Starr is a singer, artist, and actor based in New York City but has recently had the pleasure of recording his album in London, in none other than Konk Studios. He has just dropped new indie track, The Heart is a Loaded Gun, which is from the album. Brion spoke with The Fountain about the new track as well as the album, which will be released on 19th April, later in the month.
TF: A new single, how exciting, what has the reception been like so far?
We’ve been out on the road with The Chills, the reactions have been mostly very positive with a few exceptions, almost got in a punch up in Detroit. America’s a divided place right now.
TF: What inspired you to title it The Heart is a Loaded Gun, a dramatic title?
I don’t find it too dramatic, it’s quite a positive, straight forward type of message, have a listen. Furthermore, I didn’t actually title this song.
TF: And will you be promoting this with a list of exciting tour dates?
Of course, that’s what we’re here for, you know, to be the entertainment.
TF: Where has been your favourite gig to date?
Central Park summer stage or avery tiny club in Tokyo with many good friends packed inside, might be a tie.
TF: What was it like to be recording your album, Global Identity, in Konk Studios? What can we expect from the full length LP?
Absolutely wonderful, everyone at Konk were total professionals, it was a truly inspiring place to work, there’s still a bit of magic up in those woods in North London.
