Iris just dropped her debut single, Crazy, on Friday, which was produced by Grammy® Award-Winning Malay (Frank Ocean and John Legend) and Taylor Johnson, written by Josh Hendrick and Iris, Crazy is set for a feature on Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet.
TF: What inspired you to title your new single, Crazy?
Crazy is one of the main lyrics and themes of the song. Crazy is good and bad.
TF: Will you be promoting this with a list of exciting tour dates?
As of now, there are no tour dates planned, but I absolutely want to do shows and tour again. Performing is my favorite thing in the world!
TF: Where has been your favourite gig to date?
I haven’t performed any of my new music from my solo project yet. I was one of the lead singers for Linus Young, and we did some incredible shows all over the country. I’d have to say performing in Webster Hall was one of my favorite moments. I grew up in NJ and lived in NY on and off, so it was an amazing feeling to perform there for my friends and family.
TF: What has it been like to be working with Malay and Taylor Johnson?
Malay is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met. He really understands how to help artists find their own unique sound. He is very easy going, and he really pushes you to be the best that you can be. Taylor is one of the most talented guitar players and producers I’ve had the pleasure of working with. He has such good instincts and really elevated the song, Crazy, so much.
