Alexis Kings have just released new single Addict, and have been touring the UK but sadly not Scotland. The four-piece from St Albans also just released the video for this track, following on from Velvet and Squire. Sam from the band spoke to The Fountain about the reception to the new single and he admitted some of his addictions.

TF: A new single, how exciting, what as the reception been like to the track?

The reception as been amazing so far. We spent a lot of time trying to get this track sounding exactly how we wanted it to, and so it is amazing to hear the love and support for Addict from everyone.

TF: You’ve titled it Addict, what are you addicted to?

Coffee and Jaffa Cakes

TF: You formed in St Albans, how did you all meet and come up with the name, Alexis Kings?

Brendan and myself (Sam) met at school, so have known each other for many years. We met Kalyan and Fabio through friends of friends. The name Alexis Kings hasn’t got a cool story behind it, Brendan and I decided it sounded cool so we stayed with it. We’re really lucky because most people when they start a band will have a few drafts at choosing a name before they settle on one. Alexis Kings was the first name that we chose, and its stuck ever since.

TF: Are you scheduled to perform anytime soon, can we expect to see you in Scotland soon?

We’re midway through our UK tour, having played Nottingham, Peterborough, Bristol and Dublin. We have Nuneaton, Manchester and London left. We definitely want to get back up to Scotland soon, we played Edinburgh and Glasgow last year, and we loved it.

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

Mine personally is either our last London show, as we sold it out and the crowd and venue just made it such an electric atmosphere. Or when we played SummerSonic Shanghai, the stage was like the Pyramid stage, huge, thousands of people in the crowd, that was incredible.
