Katey Brooks, has just released via Billboard, new single entitled In Your Arms, which incorporates soulful choral vocals, warm instrumentation and ethereal soundscapes. The track evokes a sense of intimacy between both the artist and the listener.

Katey spoke with The Fountain about the release of a new LP in Spring 2019 and the possibilities of playing in Scotland this year.

TF: A new single, how exciting, what can we expect?

Thank you! Expect something very sentimental, quite stripped back for the most part, raw, and packed with ethereal chorale vocals.

TF: And what inspired you to title it In Your Arms?

Well originally I called it Something Good, but when my sync agent heard the song he was like “Why not In Your Arms? Seems like the obvious choice given the lyrics, and is far more compelling”. I had to concur, the song is about wanting to be enveloped in the one you love’s arms. There’s no feeling like it. And there it was.

TF: Are you working towards the release of an LP or an EP perhaps?

I am indeed. An LP. It’s been a long time coming with many twists and turns along the way. I’ll be releasing the album in spring 2019.

TF: And will you be performing up here in Scotland any time soon?

Oh I sincerely hope so!! We’ve actually just submitted to play the Mull of Kintyre Festival, so fingers crossed!!

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

Always a tricky one to answer as there’s been a few, and it depends which day you catch me on. Today I’m going to say playing in Bethlehem. That was something else. I was on the main stage of a festival for peace; ‘Betlehem Live’. The atmosphere was sensational, and the people were so happy and appreciative. And of course, it was incredible to visit somewhere steeped in so much history and that had always seemed like a mythical land, growing up. It was a very memorable experience.
