Glasgow’s Acrylic kick started 2019 with the release of their infectious new single I’ve Got Too Many Friends, which came out 11th January 2019.
The band spoke with The Fountain about the new single and how they all met.
TF: A new single, how exciting, what can we expect from that?
Following on from our EP, I think it’s a poppier track than people might have expected, but we’re really happy with its reception so far. It’s the first of quite a few releases we have planned for 2019 and it serves as a good taster for what is to come.
TF: How many friends have you got?
A hell of a lot. That’s the issue.
TF: And are you promoting this with a tour, can we expect you performing anytime soon?
Yes- we have a lot in the pipeline but nothing we can announce just yet. We are looking to spread our wings further in 2019 than we have before. We’re really excited to get out there.
TF: And how did you all meet and form?
We met at the University of Glasgow a few years ago. We shared a similar taste in music and tight fitting jeans at the time so started playing together pretty quickly. We were terrible for some time but by 2018 we felt ready to take it seriously and put out music that we were proud of.
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date, do you have one?
We had a few great festival slots in summer. Our show at XpoNorth in Inverness was particularly memorable- the weather was amazing, the crowd were all really into it and there was just a great atmosphere. We finished 2018 supporting a band from Glasgow called The Ninth Wave and that was also a highlight. The venue (St Luke’s) sounds so great. They’re also a very good band.
