With their new album Icon of Ego due for release this Friday via Ba Da Bing Records, Providence trio Arc Iris, fronted by Jocie Adams, formerly of The Low Anthem, are sharing new single If You Can See. With their third LP release, Arc Iris has become an unstoppable force.

The band spoke with The Fountain about their favourite tour as well as who their Icon of Ego really is.

TF: A new LP, how exciting, how would you sum up Icon of Ego in one sentence?

This is a fresh record that incorporates current pop sonic landscapes into traditional pop landscapes and which lyrically intimately touches on our leaders, followers and rebels and how their roles interact with one another.

TF: Who is your Icon of Ego?

I regret to say that the quintessential 2018 answer would be our American President.

TF: And what has it been like to work with Ba Da Bing Records with this LP?

I have nothing but good things to say about Ba Da Bing. They are a beautiful and small record label that works hard to promote music that other labels might not be willing to take a chance on. On top of that they are incredibly well spoken and kind. What more can you ask for, really?

TF: And can we expect to see you promote this album with a tour, can we look forward to seeing you in Scotland?

We will be there sometime in 2019! You can count on that.

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

Wow. There have been so many! I can say that our favorite tour was our tour with Kimbra this last February. Their crew was incredibly generous to us. They took us on their bus and made sure that we were cared for at all times. The shows were consistently fantastic. Her audience got us immediately. I especially enjoyed playing when the venues allowed kids under 21 in.

Icon of Ego is out on 12th October via Ba Da Bing Records.
