International superstar Hans , the boy wonder of Berlin, is set to bring his brand new critically acclaimed show Like a German to Scotland and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August at the newly created Assembly George Street venue The Red Room.
Hans spoke with The Fountain about what to expect from his show as well as his hopes and dreams with America’s Got Talent.
TF: You are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, how exciting?
Honey! It’s my second year performing in Edinburgh and I HAD to come back because the audiences are BRILLIANT!
TF: The show certainly sounds intriguing, what is the premise?
It’s a night of hilarity, accordions, hotpants, and a hell of a lot of fun pop music! Plus there’s a live band! It’s pretty much a Kylie spectacular on a Dannii budget.
TF: And what drove the project, where did your influences lie?
My influences are this world around us. Everything is material if you look for it. Who knows, sometimes even the audience can provide material. But, more than anything, I just want the audience to leave the show with a smile on their face and feeling energised.
TF: What are your plans for the Fringe, having been before are there any tips or musts you would offer to first-time performers?
Let me just say, I do believe there may be a few visits to a local community establishment called C.C Blooms….
TF: And what are your future plans beyond The Fringe?
I’m currently competing in America’s Got Talent, so obviously my first step would be to win that and then, who knows? Congress? Maybe even a job as Foreign Secretary for the UK might even be on the cards?
