Following a series of lovely support slots with the likes of Belle & Sebastian, White Denim, Porches and Molly Nilsson, not to mention showcase appearances at SxSW Festival in Texas this year, Glaswegian five-piece, LYLO, are taking their well-honed live show out on the road for a headline tour of their own.

The band spoke with The Fountain about their plans for the summer, which sadly doesn’t include festivals and their love of the Scottish crowd’s dancing.

TF: A new single release, how exciting, what can we expect?

Yeah Boy is probably the most manic track on the record. I think it’s a fun listen.

TF: And you are performing later in the year, at Glasgow’s Old Hairdressers, how do you find the Glasgow crowd?

They are good dancers. Old Hairdressers is always fun – we have played there and Mono more than anywhere else in Glasgow.

TF: What is it like to work with El Rancho?

A dream. They’re our best friend – we couldn’t have got luckier.

TF: And of course it is that time of year, are you performing at lots of festivals this summer?

No festivals this summer! lots of writing.

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

There’s a few that stick out. Right in the beginning we played an Art School club show in Edinburgh and that was a crazy night.. We played a couple of house party shows in Texas which were so fun but our album launch show in Glasgow takes the biscuit.

LYLO will be performing in The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow on Friday 3rd August
