Following the success of their last single Dantercepies, Edinburgh band Redolent have released their new track Kickhimintheshins, via Aspartame and The Fountain are exclusively premiering the new video release for this single. Redolent formed in 2012, and since then Robin (vocals, guitar, keys), Robbie White (bass, keys), Danny Herbert (guitar, keys) and Andrew Turnbull (drums) have been progressing their music and developing their craft.
The band also spoke with The Fountain about the track, working with Aspartame as well as their most recent Edinburgh gig.
TF: A single release with an interesting title, you must be ecstatic, or perhaps sore?
Yes, it’s about football and runner’s high, so both.
TF: And whose shins are we kicking?
The wee fast guy trying to hit the by-line before he can get a cross in.
TF: And what has the response been like to the release?
“What the heck is that?”
TF: What has it been like working with Aspartame to release this record?
It’s been nice! We went over to Groningen to meet Ruud which was surreal. Very intense, I don’t think any of us had been waterboarded previously.
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?
Maybe just the one we put on in Edinburgh for Juvenility. Wrapped that up pretty nicely.
