J Appiah and his video for Come Around, featuring Kojey Radical is a dark gem of a track with a video to match.

J Appiah took some time out form his schedule to chat with The Fountain about working with Kojey, his plans for 2018 and his favourite gig to date at London’s iconic Ronnie Scotts.

TF: You must be ecstatic about the release of your new single, Come Around?

Yes I’m really pleased to have finally got some new music out, it’s taken me a while so I’m a mixture of nervous and ecstatic but overall, excited.

TF: And are we likely to expect an album soon or forthcoming tour? Will we have the pleasure of seeing you hit Scotland soon?

I’m always working on new music so I feel as though although I’m not ‘officially’ writing an album, I’ll always working towards one. I plan on gigging a lot more in the new year so Scotland may be on the cards, I’ve been a few times and will look forward to coming back.

TF: What was it like to work with Kojey Radical?

Working with Kojey was a pleasure! We’ve been on each others radars for quite some time and it’s been a joy watching his journey. When we had the concept for Come Around,  there was only one artist I could hear on this and that was Kojey so I reached out and played him the song told him what I had in mind and he loved it. Kojey is an artist truly into music and if its good he wants to be a part.

TF: What has been your favorite gig to date?

My favourite gig to date is probably playing my first show at Ronnie Scotts where i had my friends and family attend. We saw a queue forming outside as I was on my way in and I was humbled. I had a group of musicians play with me who are all friends and we had such a great vibe for that night!
