Australian musician Chantal O’Brien released her debut single, I Need You, in October 2017, with clear influences from the likes of Whitney Housten and Mariah Carey.
Chantal spoke with The Fountain about what we can look forward to from her in 2018 as well as the magical components of music.
TF: You must be excited about the release of I Need You?
I am indeed! It has been a long time coming and I am so thrilled to be able to share it with everyone.
TF: Following this release, are we to expect an EP or album soon?
Yes, there will be another single and also an album. So a lot is happening this year, it will be so much fun. I can’t wait to share it with you all!
TF: I know you are based in London but will we have the pleasure of seeing you hit Scotland soon?
I would absolutely love to gig in Scotland! I have only been there once and I would love to go back there again, so it would be great to gig there this year and be able to explore it as well! ?
TF: And what inspired you to follow in the footsteps of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston with these romantic ballads?
They have inspired me through the power of their voices and the emotions they bring into their memorable songs. I want to share my voice, songs and connect with the audience, this is how music can be quite magical, the connection it makes to oneself.
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?
My favourite so far was in London at Floripa. I had so much fun and the vibe was incredible! It was just amazing and the audience were wicked! It was a truly special night.
