With fantastic pop production, funk guitar riffs, energetic vocals and rhythmic percussion, NGOD has been played by the likes of Huw Stephens (Radio 1) and Steve Lamacq (Radio 6) already. Their quick-paced new track Can You Hear Me? is no disappointment, as it begins with the repetitive mantra there’s always something going on, building the anticipation of their audience from within their own track.

Comparable to Foals and Yannis Philippakis, the structured guitar sound yet intermittent synthesized sounds support this band’s energy, prolonging an element of summer as we are well into the autumn months, reluctant to accept this. A track with very catchy lyrics such as I don’t need their labels, yet they stick and I’m no good, I’m too lazy, is going to be an anticipated earworm for any listener.

With a tour to support this single release, we have much to anticipate from this five-piece from Bradford who have only been about since 2009. Nice N Sleazy will see them gig in early October after performances earlier in the year at Y Not and Festival No. 6.
